the car idles rough on cold mornings but runs fine. It will stall while idling but starts back easily. I am getting a 1131 and a 1151 code with my scanner along with 0300 and lean bank 1 codes. I started having these problems after I had to remove the upper intake to replace coil packs. I was getting egr code and had an egr port completely block off but cleaned that out and no longer get the egr codes. Spraying carb cleaner around the engine I get a very slight bump in rpm around a couple of the intake ports could that be my problem or should I look deeper?

Since you mention that you took the intake off to change coils, I'm assuming you have the V6 LS. When you had the intake off did you replace the PCV elbow that is located down below the upper intake? If not, I'd say there's a good chance that is the cause of the vacuum leak which could explain the stalling, rough idle, and "Lean" codes on both banks.

I have not replaced the PCV elbow. Is it the black elbow on the back side of the intake that has to be disconnected in order to remove the intake?

Rob I just found a video on how to change the PVC elbow. Just a couple of questions. do you know what torque the lower intake bolts will need to be and can you purchase just the elbow for the PVC?

I don't think Ford lists the elbow by itself for the application, however the part number of the stand-alone elbow that the dealer sold me is labeled as a "Connector" and Ford part number YL8Z-6A614-AA which is for a V8 Ford truck, but it saves a few bucks over the entire PCV hose kit by application for the LS, and my local dealer had it in stock.

As for the torque of the lower intake bolts, the 4 bolts that mount the lower intake to the head should be torqued to 10 Nm / 89 lb-in. There is a torque sequence called out as well. If you're standing in front of the car, looking at the lower intake, starting at the closest bolts and continuing toward the firewall, the torque order is assigned as 4 - 2 - 1 - 3. Bolts 4 and 2 are on the left front, bolts 1 and 3 are right rear. Start with 1, then 2, etc.
