My 1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer 4.3L takes about a 3-4 count in warm weather to start and about a 4-6 count to start in colder weather. I have heard both schools of thought on this that it is normal and that it is not. Anyone with experience with this subject? please feel free to help.:2cents:

In a 26 year old vehicle, it makes perfect sense that it takes some time for it to start. Make sure you have a battery with plenty of cold cranking amps and you'll be fine. With something that old, be thankful that it starts at all.

Have you checked your cylinder compression?
