97' Ford ranger possible clutch safety switch probs!! Help please.

My 97' Ranger, 5 speed refused to crank today. I'd noticed when I pushed the clutch to start it previously that it was hesitating a second before cranking. My question is could it be the clutch starter switch and if so where is it located and I'd love to replace it myself!! Help appreciated!!
