Do you have any information that they would release a normal version? If so, that would be nice since the Monogram versions are the worst fitting models ever made.

Runner layout & moldings of this kit suggests Fujimi is surely preparing for normal version of Esprit. But there aren't any "Lotus" or "Esprit" words on the box, so there may be some sort of license problem. Only we can do is to buy this kit and pray to God:)

That looks fantastic, especially that first shot. I assume it doesn't come with that great but slightly over-engineeered stand! I'd love them to do a regular Esprit: as for the license, it may just be that doing a deal with Eon Films exhausted the Fujimi licensing team for this issue. They've got Lotus and Esprit decals on there, so they've obviously cleared the use of the name and trademarks, even if they don't call it one on the box. Perhaps "James Bond Submarine" will sell to lots of people who have no idea what a Lotus Esprit is!

My kit just arrived, I'm also convinced there are street variants coming. Full stock interior, stock glass, and trees marked "Submarine" or "Esprit/S".

Oh, and it looks like Barracca did some customizing of his own, the opening panel between the headlights isn't on the kit :sunglasse

So it looks like Fujimi will do an earlier model and a later model given the tree "Esprit/S," which is nice because I like the later versions. Then I can finally forget about that Mongram version and through it out!

Yes, and I also corrected front emblem.
Bond car in the movie has Lotus logo, but kit decal is Esprit
