:flamer: In my opinion i would much rather get the 02' Celica. The Supra is an okay car but if you put twin turbo on a 02'action package Celica GTS is would fly. Now think about it if you added an exaust system. Plus Supras fall apart to quickly. Another convincing factor about the Celica that would definatley persuade me to by a celica is because it has VVTL-i this gives you a boost at about 4000 rpm that will make your car blow by others that dont have the boost. Hope this helped.

A 1997 Supra with Twin Turbo would never be outdone by any celica with its factory engine, not matter what you did to it. First of all, a Turbo would give you a much larger 'boost' than any variable valve timing system. And the VVT system was developed and used in all A80 Supra models. Don't think that VVTi and VTEC are so almighty because they are not. Turbo beats crappy valve timing systems anyday.

:flamer: I didn't mean the VVTL-i will beat a turbo but if you put twin turbo on a Celcia with it's VVTL-i engine it would make it very fast and very capable to compete with the Supra. Anyway if your looking for a good car that wont break and hold its value get a 02' Celica with action package. I wasn't saying the celicas VVTL-i could beat turbo.

lol! well if it's speed you're after get the Supra, I never liked the action package anyways and with the complexity of modern day EFI I do not think it would me woth the expence to try and adapt turbos made for a 3.0 V6 to a 1.8 (?) 4 banger, nevermind ever passing an emmissions inspection.

Nothing personal but I think the action package looks like "factory rice" ;) I think you can make a stock Celica look much nicer for the cost of the package.

Listen, I'm not really into the racing scene but I just bought a 2002 Celica (GT) and I am in love with the car. I got the action package and it looks tight but I think you could do alot more if you just added an after factory package. Check out www.andysautosport.com they have pics of after factory kits. And it also depends on where you are, like for me not many people know much about the Celica so I have to take her out of town if I want to work on her.

If your looking for a good daily driver, get the Celica. If you want balls-out speed and performance, defintely go for the Supra. ALOT more aftermaket support for the Supra and its a helluva ride. If I could get a TT Supra Id be happy as hell.

And whats this "Action package" on the new Celica?? Sounds really cheesy to me....like something from a cartoon. Like some kind of upgrade when you buy a Bigwheels at toysrus....LOL!

I do not know why people insist on talking b.s. about something they don't have. The action package looks really good on the new Celicas. All I was saying is that if you have someone in your town that can put a package on your car and make it look good, you can spend the same amount of money and have something a llittle different than factory.:grey:

Talking BS? You talking about me? All I did was ask what an "Action package" was. Im guessing its some kind of overpriced OEM sports package with wheels, ect. Ive just never heard of anything like that before. Thier typically called "sports packages". All I was saying is that "Action package" sounds lame, like Toyotas selling barbie doll or GI Joe accessories. Thats all. You need to chill with the aggression and stop reading into things that arent there. :D

First thing, CHILL OUT!!!!! but to answer the question, i'd go with a supra over a celica any day. i personally prefer the body style and engine over the 7th gen celica. I love celicas, but the supra is much better car imo.:D

on the new celicas, the gts has like 30 more horsepower than the gt. As for the action package, and im not sure on this, but I believe it somes with: A larger spoiler, different wheels, more speakers, and i think it osmes standard with leather. There might be more things to it also, ill post them later

Actually, I just came to find out that the action package only consists of a taller spoiler, and differet sideskirts. I think he said it costed 1500 more dollars and did nothing to enhance performance :o
