2001 rodeo issues!

New to forums and cars, bare with me. I have a 2001 rodeo 3.2 ls about 210000 miles. My check engine light has been on forever. All the codes say misfires. I changed all the spark plugs and what not but nothing has helped. Now when I start up a can feel my car trying to get going to the second I shift into drive. Once I get going the engine will rev up but the transmission wont catch making it kick very hard once it does. Sometimes its just once, sometimes it happens multiple times back to back. (Especially at stop lights and when I make right turns.) One of my friends said its probably a bad coil that messing with the timing on the motor. Please help I don't want my baby to die and its my only vechile. Thank You!
