Dashboard lights going out

This just started... I have a 2008. The dashboard lights only behind the steering wheel, go out. tach/speedometer, gas and temperatures gauges all drop to 0 9like when the car is off). Lasts about 5 seconds then comes back either on its own, or it also came back when I smacked the dashboard lol.

Think it has to be a loose wire somewhere because the radio/clock stays on. So I don't think there is a battery/alternator problem. No issue with the engine either. Could it maybe be a fuse??

would I have to go behind the dash to look? I popped the hood and just gentle pressed on all the wiring connections going into the cabin to make sure they were secure.
