kurt busch has made himself known as a good stock car driver. he went to the f1 race at nurburgring (not sure on spelling), remember how he test drove a cart car, i heard he is very interested in testing a jaguar f1 car and he has said he would love to drive in f1 for jaguar some time but he is focused on nascar at least til 2006. If busch goes to f1 how do you think he would do? I would cheer for him but i don't think he is up to f1 par for road racing.

I've never heard of him, and, well, to be honest, what would make anyone think he'd do well? Personally, sincerely doubt it.

Kurt Busch is a good circle track driver, not sure of his past experiences with road courses, I think if he had the time to develope on the road couses he might have shot. Its tough to speculate, F1 is the cream of the crop. The technology of the cars has made them so much easier to drive, ie .......abs, traction control, paddle shift, etc. They are definately sperior to any other race car format. Heck, I think I could compete given the opportunity, maybe some day

nah, i really doubt he would be on the pace. the thing is he has lots of experience, but on ovals. the majority of the crop of drivers in f1 today started racing on kart tracks before they were 10. i just dont think that he has the right kind of experience...but who knows, he may shock us all
chaz, the f1 cars dont have ABS...thats why they sometimes lock up an inside front wheel going into corners

I think he has diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain to think he could step into F1 and do well. Jeff Gordon might have a chance because he has so much natural talent, but I think the next American in F1 will come from the Red Bull competition which is approaching the final stages.

i think if busch did a few seasons of cart, then went to f1 he would do well provided he was with a good team. He is a very technical driver with alot of feedback and car control. But i dont see him leaving WC unless he wins the premier races and a championship and loses his sponsor. WC is where the money is. I could see ford giving him a test tho. They gave marko one.

Yeah, but the affiliation between Ford Rallye Sport and Jaguar F1 is pretty close, so it is nothing major for him to do a PR stunt like that.
Busch on the other hand is a circle track driver, was, is and always will be, it's where he made his name and most likely where he will stay.
Like Brian said, Busch likes to run his mouth, and not too smartly either, if JG hadn't hopped in the Williams then Busch would probably have never have thought of F1.
Think of this too, if he loses his WC drive, it will be because of poor performance, why would any F1 team pick up somebody that failed in WC?

Simon, correct me if I'm wrong......anyone, but F1 is the reason ABS exists in any car today. F1 has been the developement grounds for many of todays automobiles standard and optional features, ABS, traction control, yaw sensing dynamic steering control, all products of F1. You take a car weighing 1322.77 pounds(600kg) including the driver and that kind of horsepower in to a corner at 150+ mph where ideal entry speed may be only 80 mph and see if the carbon plate brakes don't lock up from time to time, abs or not.

not that far fetched. kurt drives for roush racing in the winston cup and has very strong ties to ford and earlier this year he got to test a cart car thru those ties to ford.

Ford Motorsport in Europe is very different to Ford Motorsport in the USA.
Going from one oval track racer to another is completely different to going from a Nascar to an F1 car.
There is a lot bigger picture here I think you're missing out on.

oh, im not denying that ABS was developed for motorsport, but it is banned, like traction control used to be.

Power brakes and anti-lock braking systems (ABS) are not allowed.

yeah, yeah.......I put my foot in my mouth is what you're saying.....lol. I found it on the web sight just after i posted. Case in point, these cars are state of the art bad a$$ pieces of machinery, love to get my hands on just once.
p.s. if anyone is interested, I am organizing a raffle for a charity that is aiding in cancer research and will be raffling off some tickets to Skip Barber racing school in California. will be about a 3000.00 dollar value, tickets will sell for somewhere around 10.00 but definately no higher than 20.00, still working out the logistics, post if interested. I will start a new thread when everything is settled and most likely be available on ebay also, thanks guys and gals. I know cancer is something that has affected my life personally and i'm sure you can all agree that it is a worthy cause.
