Volvo 850R Turbo Wagon

Recently resurrected from a botched paint job from 20 years ago when the kit was new. The red was stripped off and the model reshot with a decanted mixture of Testors Daytona Yellow and Wimbledon White though my Grex w/their new fan tip nozzle (which works incredibly well). Tamiya German Gray was used for interior and trim. Wheels are AVS Model 5 on Fujimi disc brakes, suspension lowered slightly.

Not a true replica of a T5R, more a tribute to it using the stock 850 R Turbo wagon kit.

That looks beautiful!,i'm working on the same kit myself except I painted mine Chrysler Electric Blue,unfortuneately the paint gods aren't working with me as i'm on my 5th repaint.

very nice, i think this is the first time i've seen the street version built.
does the rear wing come with the kit?

Thanks! Yes, the rear spoiler comes w/this kit (it's also shared w/the BTCC version as well).

Spent yesterday making a roof rack for it; used 2 of the Fujimi kits because I wanted 2 bikes. Was able to incorporate the narrow roof box. I had to use styrene strips for the cross bars because the ones in the Fujimi box were too short to fit the Volvo roof rack. It's all removable too.

The addition of the roof racks really looks good,i hope mine can look as good as this when it's finished.

Looks great, Bob, especially the update! I like the custom front license plate - a cool detail, just like the Swedish flag that Volvo incorporates in the seat piping of the XC90.

A Swedish yellow brick in the land of Georgia red clay! Very nice redo and an even better result the 2nd time around!

Super job, I really like the rebuild. The bikes and box are a fun touch!

Great stuff. Love the 850 (both Volvo and BMW :rolleyes:), and yours came out terrific. Even better that it's a redo. I always kinda regretted not getting one of these years ago when they were still easy to find- this build does nothing to alleviate that! :p
