2001 chevy lumina, 225,000 miles but sat in barn 6 years. Perfect car. Runs so well. I have taken excellent care of car. It runs so well.

Already had solenoid changed b4, but never transmission replaced. Car is old. Do I just get a different car at this point? P1811 is there again.

I brought car for minor repair and high pressure engine cleaning. Radiator hose got knocked off and major over heating until back in garage next day. Could that have triggered something though unlikely.

Hopeless in Minnesota

Why did you start two threads on exactly the same topic?

How about we reply in the other thread, and let this one die? Or perhaps a moderator can remove it altogether.

You probably have worn/damaged seals causing a low pressure issue. Depending on how attatched you are to the car, either replace the transmission or the car. Possible just a valve body cleaning or the solenoid is sticking, but with the miles, and the time sitting with no lubricants flowing through the trans, best to replace the trans...

I was going to wait for 3 months to pass at new job and buy new car. The thing about this car is such excellent condition and runs so good. But your right. Thank you

If the condition is that good, it might warrant a trans swap. You'll have to crunch the numbers to see if it is worthwhile to you. You could probably replace it foe something newer and with lower mileage for what it might cost unless you perform the work yourself. Then again, as a trade it may also have some value.

Thank you very much. Its starting to make sense. I had a oil leak and a garage did high power engine clean. Many other odd problems from that. Water may have went into seals that triggered the p1811. I'll give it a week then have it checked and serviced.

Why cant mechanics take responsibility instead of being hostile. Are they afraid of bosses? After the engine power cleaned i was strand because of radiator right after for 5 hours. Hose came loose. Headlights pulsing too and these readings. It was extremely stressed for a week.

Garage said none of it was from that. Lesson learned
