my friend wants to trade his type r cams he put in his b16 for my stock b18c (gsr) ones and also my gsr rims. is that a good deal? and would it work on my engine, if so how much gain and would i need to upgrade anything else in the process thanks

imo your getting the good deal... hes gettin the shorter end.. haha... anyways, yes it would work in your engine, no you dont need to upgrade anything else although most people would upgrade the rest of the valvetrain... gains? i'd say a good 5hp on the weak, conservative side (to say the least, im definately not too sure)... but its definately worth the trade imo... unless you really love your gsr wheels =p

let's try this again. you HAVE to get at least a vafc and up the vtec crossover point and tune the a/f ratio at the minimum. or you could just get an itr ecu. if you're going to run itr cams you should get the valve springs and retainers to go with them or you will be sorry one day. if you go the vafc route you really won't be taking advantage of the cam's profile because the stock gsr redline is lower than an itr and the itr cams are made for top end hp. if you up your redline without springs and retainers, kaboom.
