I have a 1995 Lumina APV 3.8. I plan to replace the A/C compressor. Bought a Ready Aire compressor but need to know what kind and how much PAG oil to use. 150, 100 or 46?
Thanks!
Roland

It should say in the info in the box with the new compressor- but pag 150 is what I use- also it should be on the accumulator label under hood.

Some compressors come dry, and some have oil in it...

The usual rule of thumb is:

Take the drain plug out of the old compressor....and drain the oil into a measurable cup.....drain the fluid(if any out of the new compressor).....

If you drained 2 oz or less out of the old one, add 2 oz to the new one....

If you drained more than 2 oz out of the old one, add the same amount to the new one....

Actually (or unfortunately) there was no paperwork at all. I bought it off of Ebay Motors. It is a remanufactured unit by Ready Aire.
