grinding in front right wheel

I have a 2003 Saturn ion and i had my front struts replaced due to shaking when i hit 40-50 mph. The mechanic i spoke to said i needed them and my tie rods replaced but when i got another mechanic to put my parts on he said there is nothing wrong with my tie rods that I needed new ball joints but i replaced my struts and the shaking went down but when i hit a dip in the road there is a metal to metal type grind on my front right side which it did that before i replaced my struts. Someone plz help me figure out what that noise is and what needs to be fixed??? TIA
