Photoshop Gurus....I need your help :(

I am using P-Shop 5.5. I recently started having problems with my text tool. When I type a line of text and and press enter to start a new line, the cursor goes to the middle of the line I just typed. If I start typing again the new text overlaps the first line...see pic. I also noticed that I have lost my tracking option...notice how it is a dull gray and doesn't allow me to enter a number. I have tried to change all the different settings and anything else I could think of. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I am hoping something in my computer itself didn't mess up causing me to have to reinstall the software....or worse, reformatting my PC. :(

highlight the text, and then change your Leading to something bigger.. like 10 :)
