1998 626 lx trans failure

I got the car used it did not run, replaced the timing belt got it tuned up and like the car. It is dent free everything works great until the transmission went out. I have been having a hard time finding a replacement transmission that is within my budget. Anyone know where (in Washington state) i might be able to get one that is under $400? Or other Ideas?
