my 2006 runs hot so I straight wired the fan what I am asking did the fan have 2 speeds and if so is ther any way you know to run it in 2 dirrent speeds as its straight wired thanks a million

There is a controller module on the fan itself, and it communicates with the vehicle PCM. Put a scanner / code reader on it and see if there's a code. If the fan is having an issue, you might see a P1285 code, even if the light is not on.

If you have to keep it hot wired you might want to wire it through a relay so it doesn't put a big amp load on your electrical system. I believe they use resistors to bring the high(full speed) down to low(half speed). It may be that wiring in a rheostat will allow you to set it at any speed between off and full.

The fan speed is controlled via a PWM controller - not a resistor. This controls the fan speed by pulsing the power at certain intervals.
