Porsche 936 (76), Renaissance, 1/24

Hi

I've always liked the 936 (might have been something to do with the paintjob...), I built the Tamiya 936s, but I thought I'd like to build an early version without the big air intake on the back, so I bought the resine kit by Renaissance.

Except for the MFH kits, which are basically a class on their own, I only built one other resine kit, the Panoz by LeMans Miniatures, therefore it's difficult to judge the kit, compared to similar offerings. The etched parts are very thin but can be used nicely, there are some turned parts, nice decals and the clear parts are included twice. The body is also quite good (though I had to rebuild one of the lips on the front edges), but the parts underneath... it is curbside, which is abolutely ok, but the cockpit and the intake at the front are visible, and not done well...
Therefore I decided to pilfer some parts of a Tamiya 936 I built years ago and wanted to build again anyway, and took the bottom and the seat of this kit and also built a new air intake at the front. The front struts of the roll bar are not right and were not usable, so I made new ones, but couldn't quite make them correct, but anyway.

There are some pics of the kit another builder made in a different forum if you want to have a look at the parts: http://www.automodelista.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8949

Painted with Zero White and TS29, Mr. Super Clear Gloss on Top of it.

Hope you like it.

Lovely job. Another one I can add as inspiration when I get stuck into my Martini Project. Thanks.

Cheers,
Anthony
