Air conditioner blower

The stock AC fan on my '90Blazer is weak. Am thinking an in-line step-up (around 4-6 volts) transformer, would increase performance. Meaning more RPMs=more COLD air. Here in the HOT, globally warming San Joaquin Valley. I'll take, NO REPLY, as an affirmative.:evillol:

You could do that, but you would likely be disappointed. Unless you have some kind of very special Blazer, a transformer is unlikely to help, let alone even work (except to blow fuses). Transformers can operate very effectively on AC. On DC, they act as a dead short once saturated (about 60-150 mS). If you have installed an inverter to power the AC fan on your Blazer, a transformer could work, but it would be just as easy to increase the output frequency of the inverter to increase speed.
Chances are that's not the case, however.
If the fan is actually running slowly (low RPM) it is likely that the fan motor brushes and commutator are finally wearing after 25 years of service. If the fan motor runs at a reasonable speed but air flow is insufficient, that might be a problem with debris on the evaporator core face. After 25 years, that is not uncommon either. Perform a little diagnosis to determine which (if not both) conditions might exist on your truck.
Or, you could install a transformer.
