An air conditioning compressor is extremely important because even though it deals mainly on the heating side of the system, without it, the entire AC system could fail. The AC compressor is the part responsible for regulating the refrigerant gas that is used by the air conditioning system and making it pressurized just right to be able to pass into the AC condenser.

As long as the proper procedures are adhered to it will be successful. A complete draining and replacement of compressor oil, complete flush of components, TXV and drier replacement, the proper o rings and the proper oil. Kits are available for this. Make sure all prior leaks and seepages are addressed before going ahead with conversion.
