I'm not sure, maybe you can find some info in here. http://www.geocities.com/seegs_82/Index.html

Just a comment on that site, its a good site, a few wrong things. No specs for the 1G either. I've emailed the dude a few times, to correct it and add the 1G specs, but he never got back to me.

hey thanks for the sites, ii still not positive on whether the dsms are in japan or not but the sites didn't give a forshure answer. i think it said that some dsms where exported to japan, but then it also talked about how the 4g63 is mitsubishi's workhorse and is used in evo 3's? and thats why you can get jdm 4g63. but i know more now than i did before so thanks again.

Ya, sorry I couldn't find a definate answer either. I didn't feel like reading that first link all the way through to see if it even had an answer. I looked and looked but didn't find anything that answered your question other than other message board posts.

Yup , and a couple years ago were gaining popularity as a potent street/ highway racer. In any case , they have always had the Galant VR4 , which is basically the same drivetrain , and in massed quantities we didn't get. The VR4 type Galant is still being built , to my knowledge , or was discontinued recently. Look at GT2 , It shows GVR4's and Super GVR4's in the last body style.

Eclipse are American cars. They have sold them in Europe also. They import the European model to Japan. There is no such thing as JDM ECLIPSE. There is a Euro Eclipse though but they are still made in America. Only thing different about the us from the euro are the taillights and the side automatic folding mirrors.

Go to these links and you'll find a lot of info...just search around...you'll get the idea even if you can't read them...

They have 1g, 2g, 2g spyders in japan...but that doesn't mean they are jdm eclipse....you see a european Ford Escort Cosworth RS in America...you don't call it a domestic...it's still a european car.

So therefore...there is NO JDM ECLIPSE....only thing good out of this is that the Japanese love our cars SOOO MUCH over evos and fto and what not...they have to import them from europe and america to own it....so it's like us importing an evo 5 or skyline to the states but they import Eclipse....:bigthumb:

If you don't already know what D23A, D27A, etc...etc...

I may be wrong...it's off the top of my head...(search the web...)

D23A - 1g turbo
D27A - 1g turbo awd
D31A - 2g non-turbo
D32A - 2g turbo
D33A - 2g turbo awd
D38A - 2g turbo sypder

(the numbers are like chassis codes like for hondas: EF6,9 88-91 civic, EG2,6 92-95 civic, DC5 RSX,....and so forth)

(YOU MUST copy and paste the links in a new browser!!!)

You could always type in the chassis code under www.yahoo.co.jp and it will give you all the sites about the eclipse in japan.

I figured the Japanese imported them.

The cool thing about the European 1G, they had pop-ups from 90-94 :bigthumb: The front corner signal lights are all yellow, unlike ours where they are half yellow, half clear

D23A is for N/T and Turbo FWD (but who really cares about the N/T)

You like pop-ups? :bloated: jeez man , thats unnecessary weight. One reason the 92's are a touch lighter than the 90's ,was the swap to flush headlights. I'm all about the lightness. Thats why I remove the A/C also......
