Ok, I've read alot of the threads you folks got going. Their is so good stuff here. Now I have a couple of ?'s I hope you all can point me in the right direction. I own a 95 240sx se, I changed the spark plugs and now the car running rough. #1 Do the HKG factory plugs come with the gap already set? If not what is the proper gap setting? #2 I also changed the cap and rotor, what is the timing to be set at? #3 The check engine light has come on is there a way to get the error code without paying $150.00 at the dealership for a test and $120.00 plus parts to fix?
Ok, thats all the ?'s I have today. I should be getting may book within 5-7 days but i can't wait to fix my car it pains me to hear her runnig so rough. So if any one can help me reply.

do you still have your old plugs? if so just measure them, if you want you can use a couple nail files to put between for the measurement so that you get it the same, thats how I did my plugs last month
the new cap and rotor should be fine how they are, not sure what your asking about them
and for the engine light problem just use black electrical tape and cover it up :bigthumb:

they sell something at advance auto parts... you can do the test yourself, and it tells you digitally whats wrong with it. like $40 i think

our ecu's have their own self diagnostic tols with in them.
you dont have to take the car anywhere.
there are two lights on the ecu...a red and a green.

read this page.....if you dont then you will waste money for someone to do this easy test.

1. you should gap your plugs anywhere between .039 and .044 inches
2. Set your timing to somewhere around 18 degrees BTDC
3. look at the link the rudeboy posted and it will tell you exactly what to do.
