Fujimi McLaren F1

After a 5 month delay, I've finally finished my stock Fujimi McLaren F1. Actually, I realized after photos I should scratchbuild the missing black rocker areas that Fujimi forgot...

Very basic kit with a lot of simplification and corner-cutting. It still looks pretty decent when built. I used some of the p/e set, and left other for an F1 LM conversion (I'm still waiting to see if Aoshima might do that...).

Paint is Testors Honduras Maroon, overcoated w/Tamiya transparent orange. Wheels are Tamiya 360 Modena...the stock F1 wheels bore me to tears.

Paint is all decanted and airbrushed, the Testors and Tamiya are acrylic lacquers, the U-Pol clear I believe is a 1K urethane.

I just got Fujimi's F1 LM Gulf (short-tail) & must say I'm rather disapointed!
Why must Fujimi make the doors either open or closed...

Bloody beautiful,those wheels keep jumping at me,they kinda work and they kinda don't work.the Color is to die for,you show great imagination in daring to use different colors and with great effect.

Like you I await a aoshima version.

Same thing for me too. But the shape of the spokes works well with the body.
