08 Vic battery light

Hi All, I have an 08 vic with 113k that has the battery light on. The alternator & battery are new and it seems to be charging fine. I've done very little research and was told the white wire plug in on the alternator can be faulty and cause this but I am open to hearing any suggestions on what might be causing it. Thank you. Kevin
