I'm thinking about wiring in a new deck. I don't know, though, which wire connects to which on the adaptor for my deck. Is there some color code that can tell me what each wire is for? Thanks guys.. Oh yeah, i have a 91 civic std 3dr...

The adapter should have instructions stating which wire is which, also each wire is usually marked.

The head unit should have a sticker on the bottom stating which wire is which.

Send the head unit clip & wiring harness adapter to me, I'll connect it properly for you. $20 + s/h each way.:bigthumb:

This is my first time doing any wiring on my deck, so please bear with me. I have no idea which is the head unit, etc. I don't know any terms/phrases. There is no sticker on the adapter - I can figure out what each wire is for on the deck (it says in the manual) I don't know what each wire is for connecting to the white plug dealy. Thanks for the help... I need to know what each wire is for to connect to the deck's wiring, thanks...

head unit is the same thing as a deck.

You will need the deck & wiring harness
an adapter that plugs into your factory wiring - you dont want to cut that

Factory wiring
Antenna plug
Red/blk - light switch
wht/blu-wht/grn -- power feed (fused lead)
blu/yel-gry/wht -- Left rear speaker
Red/yel-brn/wht -- Right rear speaker
Blu/grn-gry/blk -- Left front speaker
Red/grn-brn/blk -- Right front speaker
Blk -- body ground

so there is an adapter that hooks from my deck from my old car to the harness in my new car so no cutting of wires is required? Do i get this from the manufacturer of the deck?

The adapter plugs into the factory wiring harness with NO cutting, but you still have to make all the connections between the adapter & the decks wiring harness.

You can find the adapters at Best Buy or any car audio place should have them. If you go with best buy, go back buy the installers they have better adapters than what are sold inside the store.

Heh, I got a little lost in your last sentence. I can go to best buy and they'll give me an adapter, which means i wont have to do any rewiring? Or just a little re-wiring or something?? Thanks...

The adapter you purchase plugs into the factory wiring with no cutting. The wires coming out of the adapter needs to be wired into the decks wiring also no cutting should be needed, just stripping & connecting.

They wont give you one, you gotta buy it.
