Okay so I've owned a couple pickups, an h3, a cts, a discovery, a civic, a Cherokee and a jetta and all in all the Honda was the best little rig out of all of em. If I have to get another 4th generation hatch I will but I wanna try something different and I'm looking for best gas mileage, reliability and price (for the car itself and parts). What are the the best years and trims for like example of ones that come to mind for me are corollas, sentras, 323s etc. What would you choose if you were lookin to spend 1- 2.5k for the best value.

Well, you have a budget, so that's a good start. $1,000-$2,500 isn't a very big budget for a vehicle, but given that you've had quite a few vehicles in the past, I'm sure you know this.
Here's a list of decent cars that I'd look for. In no particular order.
Vehicles with asterisks next to them are vehicles I myself have looked into.
Honda Accord
Honda CR-X
Nissan Altima
Toyota Corolla
Volkswagen Golf*
Chevrolet 1500
Honda Civic*
Nissan 240SX*
Ford Mustang*
Chevrolet Camaro
Pontiac Firebird
Toyota Camry
Dodge Neon
Mazda Miata*
Mazda RX-7*
Toyota Supra*
Volkswagen Jetta
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Subaru Impreza*
Nissan Sentra
Buick Regal
Chevrolet Impala
Toyota Celica
Honda Prelude*
Ford Escort

Okay my mom has a 2002 Audi A4 and its a classy premium brand car but its been many mechanical problems. What should she trade it for if she wants a luxury but reliable SUV. She likes the Nissan rogues and muranos no companies like Lexus Audi Cadillac etc. Too much money for parts.
