Starting problem

My friend has an 89 Toyota pickup v6 4x4. He had it parked in the street and it got hit in the corner of the front drivers side. He now has a hard time starting it up, it takes about 5-10 minutes to get it started. It was running fine before the accident. Any ideas?:confused:
