I have a 2005 dodge caravan and today after taking my kids kids to school, I noticed white smoke coming from the hood of the engine. I managed to get home and check it out. With further inspection, smelled like some type of fluid is burning off I can't tell if it's oil or anti freeze. There seems to be some type of condensation in the inside of my van on the passenger windshield. I looked to check to see any leaks inside on the floor mat and underneath the van itself and nothing. What seems to be the issue?

Would be great for any type of information. This is my only running auto. I have 4 kids and 3 go to school and one child has asthma

Any sweet smell in the interior? First thing comes to mind, heater core leaking. Best case, hose in engine compartment sprung a leak. Check your coolant level..

I really couldn't tell what type of smell it was. I have the flu and I'm all stuffed up I did smell something burning off though. My first notion was oil.

White smoke is usually, coolant/water. Black/blue is oil.

Thank you. I will let my husband know that, which he probably does. He is working right now

How is the coolant level in the overflow bottle? If it's down you may have found the source of the culprit system. Same for engine oil.
