Hi all. Check engine light just came on. Tried 2 different scan tools (both were $150 range) and both show no codes and neither could reset the light. Is there another procedure to find a code/turn the light off? 3.8 non supercharged. Thanks guys. :naughty:

The code could be for something other than the engine/emissions system. A full bi-directional scanner such as Tech II or MT-2500 should be able to read stored and pending codes for the engine, SIR, ABS, body, and transmission. It should also be able to monitor data and clear most of the memory.

Is it the Check Engine light or the Check Gages light?

If check gages, there will not be a code set(usual problem is a head light out)....if it is a check engine light, a codes is set, and the scan tool should be able to read even a history code, if the light is not on at the time....
