96 park avenue anti theft

Hello,
I installed a resistor in ignition switch circuit yellow wires coming from ignition switch below column to bypass anti theft. This worked for awhile. Car now will not start at times. I have to leave ignition key turned to on position for 10 minutes for anti theft module to reset it self before starting car.Is there a permanent solution to bypass the anti theft on this car so I do not have to keep doing this?or what need's to be replaced to fix this.

There are no yellow wires from the ignition switch that you add a resistor to....

There is an orange sheathed set of white wires from the ignition lock cylinder that you add a resistor to, that has to match the resistance of the pellet on your key.....

Is your security light staying on when the car won't start? Does the car crank and not start, or doesn't crank at all?

If the light is staying on and doesn't crank, recheck your connetections at the resistor that they are tight.....

I was wrong about the colors of the wires.You were correct. The resistor is still connected properly. The car will not crank over when I try to start it. It will not do any thing until I wait 10 minutes for the module to reset turning the security light off, leaving the key in on position and then turning key off and then it will start. I have replaced the ignition switch and neutral safety switch as well as starter relay. I also installed a used anti-theft module. The problem still occurs occasionally. The only thing left that I know to do at this point is to install new wires to the module. I was hoping for a simpler way to bypass the anti-theft system all together.

Ok, when the car won't crank, is the SECURITY light staying on?

If it is, you will have to check the integrity of the resistor circuit.....you will have to disconnect the large block of wires above the e-brake.....then attach your ohm meter at the two wires in the half of the block......now flex the resistor circuit, and see if the ohm reading changes...

Does the resistor completely bypass the anti-theft or is there another way to accomplish this?

All that resistor does, is bypass the lock cylinder that your ignition key goes into.....it doesn't bypass the "system" at all......how did you attach the resistor? Twist wires to it, use a crimping tool and butt connector, or solder?

So back to my initial questions.....

You just turn key to on, don't crank, does the SECURITY light go out after 5 seconds? If it goes out every time, and then when you turn the key to the crank position, does the starter crank and not start , or it doesn't crank at all?

If the SECURITY light does stay on, did you do a resistance check of the resistor circuit at the bulk connector, while flexing it and it's lines, like I asked?
