Has anyone out there replaced the rear deck speakers on their 2000 or newer Bonneville? It looks like the rear seat and rear shelf needs to be removed. There are grills in the rear but they are kind of staked to the rear shelf. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

I just replaced the rear 6x9's in a 2001 bonneville today.
First remove the back seat (just the backrest) and take it out of the car.
Then undo the 2 back tabs that hold the fiberglass lid in place.
Next you need to carefully pull the lid out from under the plastic trim that covers on the sides next to the door. I found it was better to do this when it was extremely hot in the car because everything was more flexible.
Once the sides are free you can pull the whole lid out or just lift it up and change your speakers. I left the lid in and changed mine because the foam was all stuck to the fiberglass bottom.
I replaced the 6x9's with Pioneer A6969's
Next I am going to do the fronts. If you need help with those lemme know :)
