I know this is crazy, and maybe stupid, but a friend and I where talking. Is it possible to put in a Manual Transmission in a Lesabre?

I have a 97, is there anything that even comes close?

Chris.

I'm guessing that it would be possible. The clutch would be interesting, since mounting the clutch master cylinder could be a challenge.

The transmission could be a Getrag 282 5 speed, but the bolt pattern could be difficult to match to the Buick without a custom adapter. Even then, the trans could be a little light for the application.

Then there is the PCM.

Possible, sure anything's possible

But it would be incredibly difficult. The only W-body to have a manual was the late 80's Turbo Grand Prix and that used a 60 degree V6, not a 90 degree V6. The only manual transmission 90 degree V6 cars were Rear wheel drive. Some Fiero people have managed to get manual transmissions to work with transverse 90 degree V6es but it's a lot of work. For the same amount of money you could drop a built L67 with a built trans in and be a LOT faster.
