Suzuki Hayabusa...something a bit different.

Well, here is a couple of pictures of my latest project. Pretty much box stock, painted with Tamiya's PS-16 with a coat of tamiya clearcoat (the only part in the pictures painted this colour is the front fenders). The model still needs some detail work, and the cowling/ fenders to have all the parts assembled/decaled and then polish all the cowling and it should be done.

Well, here are the pics, I will be happy to get more at peoples requests.

Oh boy I think I inhaled to many paint fumes

I just ripped apart my maisto(sp) part die cast and extended the swing arm dremeled off the very rigid die cast license plate holder and lamps, removed all fairing and wheels now painting white and white. Now lowered it like above pic. Also blacked out the head lamps and winsheild.

I'll take some pics once the dizziness goes down some ;)

Thanks for the comments guys, I have done a bit more detailing to the kit, nothing really worth new pics, but I will take some in the near future, when there is something to update.

Well finally some progress. Well, so much progress that all I need to do is some final touching up and it will be on the shelf to collect dust, then get cleaned every once in a while, until I get a proper display cabnet

Thanks for the replies guys!

I have been meaning to make a new thread to post completed pictures, but I decided not too, until I finish making something to take the pictures on (so far, a sheet of 220 grit sandpaper painted flat black).

I removed the back hayabusa badges and the big symbol, because the symbol started to go white where air was getting under it ( ) so I removed the two hayabusa symbols, to keep it a bit more accurate.

Don't look right without wheelie bars. Good job jonno. These are real nice bikes in life, but I'd be too scared to ride one. Anything that can do 150+ on 2 wheels is scary.

i was lucky enough to get to ride a tuned busa a year ago :-

ohlins forks and rear shock
dynojet power comander pack
yoshimura full exhaust
full engine blue printing and cams reprofiled
ap racing disc brakes
carbon fibre body work and a 5lb nitros bottle in the back.

it was pushing about 180bhp at the wheel and destroyed a rear tyre in under 1000 miles!

i have never been so scared of anything apart from a trackday prepared gsxr1000. the roll on power was amazing and the way it just never stopped pulling, 80mph in first gear and on the motorway as i slotted 6th gear home at 160mph i gave it too much throttle and the bastard pulled a wheelie. i have never been so damn scared in my life, looking at the sky at those speeds tends to panic you when your not expecting it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

all in all these things are truely awesome when tuned
