Replacing the antenna SEEMS easy, but can be a pain, especially if you have a factory sunroof. You may want two people (or a small child to reach in the dash) But that coax wire goes down the side of the windshield into the upper dash where you need to grab it and pull it through. That is the hard part, grabbing the wire. Then send it over to the radio (you might need a few wire ties to hold up the antenna wire). Take off the center console, pull out the radio, and you will see a round hole, push that plug firmly into that hole, then test the radio, if it works, put it back together, if it only kinda works, the plug isnt in all the way.

already got it put back in just the plug into the radio, so your saying that it plugs directly into the radio i'm guessing, i guess i didn't put it into the right hole. funny i don't have that problem anywhere else... i still need sleep damn am i sleepy.
errrrg.

For future referrence... the easiest way to change a broken antenna on our cars is to tie some high strength fishing line to the cable before you pull it out. Tie the fishing line back on to the new cable and just pulled that sucker through with the fishing line..... couldn't be easier! I've done this with 5 different cars... 2 Civics, 1 CRX, 1 Mirage, and 1 Corolla. Took less then 15 minutes with all 5.

As for where to plug the cable in at... the plug on the back of your radio will be on the drivers side of the radio... you can stick your hand back there and feel it rather easily. If you have an aftermarket radio, just make sure not to plug it into any of the RCA plugs and it should work... on the stock radio, there is only one place for it to go, and you will have to press rather hard to get it to go in probably.

Yes Killa_CRX is right, when replacing the antenna, tie something to your old cable before you pull it out, otherwise you are wanting this to be a pain in the ass. Then just do the opposite to install it. I have installed antennas both ways and just damn, without doing that it is too big of a pain to do.

And yes, your antenna wire just plugs into the back of the radio, thats the only place for it to go. I have not yet seen a vehicle that doesn't have the antenna plug into the back of the radio. Like Killa_CRX said, if you have an aftermarket radio, make sure your not trying to plug it into an RCA output, one of those white or red holes.

It's either a hole in your radio or, aftermarkets sometimes have a think black wire comming out of the back of the radio with a clyander attached, and the antenna wire should fit right in there.

well thanx to everyone but only quiXilver understood that i had already done everything but plug the darn thing into my radio. i threaded the cable a month ago w/ the help of a friend and 5 mins. no fishing line but i had thought of that though unfortunately after removing my original antena. i will try and get it working.

Actually I'm sure a lot of us understood you already had it ran, but it never hurts to throw up that information anyway, just incase someone else ends up reading this that needs to replace an antenna. I understood you already had the new one ran and everything, but was just agreeing.

Didn't you have to unhook your original antenna in the first place? Either way its not hard to figure out, just pull the radio out and the antenna will actually only fit in one spot.

got excited when i finally realized how to take the antenna out and just yanked it out w/out seeing where it was plugged i know it's a stupid thing to do. but i can't change that now.

Is it an aftermarket radio or a stock radio? Can you take a pic of the back of the radio and post it on here and someone can circle it for ya?

i cant see this thread still being open, on any deck, the antenna cable can only fit in one place. just take the deck out and see where the hole for the antenna goes and shove it in.
