door ajar light remains on

2006 durango 4.7 awd checked all recalls, none outstanding.

Hey.

The door ajar light remains on which means the interior light does while driving (along with the warning alarm beeps) and after leaving the vehicle also.

Been around all the doors to make sure they are shut, but cannot turn it off.


Where would the switches be located on the doors or is there some other thing I should be looking for.

The door ajar switches are integral to the door latch assembly. If I remember right there should be at least one connector going to the latch. One should be for the door ajar switch. I tired to find a quick pic of the wires for the ajar switch, Couldn't find one quickly. If you can find which one, if there are more than one, you can put a jumper wire in the connector and see if the lights go out. I would recommend using a fused jumper wire too, just in case something happens.
