Push rods to OHC

What year did Ford Ranger engines switch from a push rod to over head cam engines.

I'm looking for a used Ranger and want an OHC engine.

One friend told me 2002 and another told me 2001.

Though 2001 was the first year of a new series, it still had to old 2.5L SOHC engine. 2002 started the new 2.3L DOHC engine.

I guess I should have been more specific. I'm only interested in getting a 3.0 V6.

Was the V6 also a SOHC in 2001....and then switched to a DOHC in 2002?

What year did the Ford Ranger with V6 engines switch from the old push rod V6 engines to the over head cam engines?
