This is now firmly on my radar (as in I've just bought tickets for both days :) )High-speed demonstrations will be held for pre-1975 Formula 1 cars including those of the distinctive ‘high-airbox’ era, Group C Le Mans machines that regularly reached 230mph on the Mulsanne Straight, and the car that made McLaren a winner at La Sarthe in 1995 – the F1 GTR – which will appear in both short and long-tail variants.:)

Wonder which cars will appear?
Could be #01R and #20R though I doubt it (no idea if they're actually in running condition either).

ROFGO have both - I'd consider that most likely.

#01R is more likely given the text of the article, but seeing #15R and #22R would be fantastic!!

Funny that #01R did not mentioned that news text. It should be there right? :D
I will be there. Both days.
This moment seems, 25 Air Box Formula One's including Niki Laudas 312T, 15 Group C Sportscars, and now at least 15 F1 GTR's seems to be the case.

Some more 73rd Members Meeting post arrived today :)

Let's open this a bit. What you rhink about these:
GULF's = perhaps #12R or #15R?
Davidoff = Must be meaning GULF Longtails then? #20R or #22R?
FINA = #21R or #26R or perhaps even #18R, not expect #23R from USA?
WEST = #03R
Harrods = #06R
And yesterday McLaren Automotive's Facebook page had an image of XP1 LM and text upon that "We had festive celebrations at MTC last night. The fireworks were spectacular".
So the XP1 LM will be there also perhaps then? :smokin:

Who's going:
* Greg

Except Greg, you all sleep in a hotel? Booked already?
March is coming close, making a hotel reservation would be good and it could be nice when we stay in the same area / hotel (dinner - carpool).
Send PM's or mail for details if interested.

Right now could be good to hear some facts about GTR's, but is there any..?
Of course we here in this forum, we know about the things, so this information which we already have; we can say quite sure what there will be, BUT it would be nice to hear some facts also. Is it possible to get.

I have not yet planned my trip but it is a good idea to stay in the same hotel in that area. Where do you stay?
Me either, haven't booked the ferry nor a hotel (or b&b).
I assume only the saturday?
I do want to arrive early in the morning on track, which means have to skip sleeping and travel at night (by car) plus ferry.
Or departure on friday afternoon and take another night in a hotel / b&b.
The same for the return trip. Leaving on sunday, drive to the ferry and home is too long to become a worthfull sunday stay on track. That's why I have an extra stay in mind on sunday / monday night.
Basicly, arrive friday evening at a hotel, leaving monday morning, for me.
Prices and travel distance are on an acceptable level, still.
Most of times I visited a Goodwoord event it becomes more expensive and very busy (longer travel distance between hotel and track) closer to the event.
I don't want to wait too long this time ;)

Still no mentions about #01R.
McLaren; if you read this:
Please bring it there. There are GTR fans coming a cross of the Europe in to this 73rd Goodwood Members meeting and specialty most of them hoping deeply to meet #01R there and if possible; the XP1 LM; the Ultimate Roadcar ever made.

Well update this point about confirmed GTR's:
#02R, #03R, #06R, #07R (should be seems like that), #10R, #13R , #16R, #19R, #24R, #27R confirmed at least these ones.
Davidoffs are question mark. Somepoint these were mentioned but not this time. If they are there; #20R, #22R are possible to see there, and no mention about #15R eather.
And one word about that #01R case:
Even it not be driven there; just to see the car standing on the stand doors closed would be enough to me and I think many others also. I know how expensive these things are to get these cars to driving shape. It would be more than brilliant to see the car on the stand even without driving on the track.
It has been 20 years target to see #01R and now I'm and many others are very close of that. Hope, Really hope McLaren that you could bring it there. It would make the trip 100% perfect.

Good to read a lot of carswill turn up.
But I haven't seen many names of original GTR drivers.
It would be very nice to see and speak the racing drivers of it's time.

Okay, let's do a small update about this one, some facts and some thoughts.
There is around one month to go this years Members Meeting.
This we all ready know:
GTR's Confirmed are:
- #02R
- #03R
- #06R
- #07R
- #10R
- #13R
- #16R
- #19R
- #24R
- #27R
Total this moment 10 GTR's.
How ever; I can not say for sure about these ones, are these confirmed or not:
- #04R
- #20R
And, if we are very lucky; this could be incredible gathering.
IF:
- BMW Museum brings there #18R and #26R
- Rofgo Collection ends up there with #15R and #22R
- #12R shows up
- #14R shows up
- and what about #01R or XP1 LM or 56XPGT then?
Lots of questions still open. BUT let's hope the best.

Okay 4 weeks to go.
I thought I could ask some photograph things here from those, who have been there in Goodwood, perhaps last years Members Meeting.
- What to expect?
- How close can get the cars during pitlane area before the cars are lining up to wait to the track?
- DId I understood right that no presscard needed to go area where the cars are located before lining up to track?
- What are the light conditions, shadows or lights in the pitlane area?
- The Driving images : seems there is plenty of places to shoot the cars on the track?
- Interiour shots, possible or not?
- IF anyone has something to tell his experiences from there, please do so. I have thought these things a lot, the limited time shooting cars in pitlane area is not problem (meaning people walking cross the shooting line), but how close there is possibilities to go?
Thanks for the answers!

This is good news indeed. Seems #18R will not be there. #26R was driven last year so seems BMW Museum has kept the car driving shape.
This information what I have; 4 JJ Lehto's cars there. Hope the #01R would be the Fifth.!
Anyone knows that did JJ tested #19R any point?

I'm not friend of JJ really, but I don't know is he there. I think if he will be somewhere present; it's Le Mans.

Okay, this is going to be good. All these and cars which I have never ever imagine to see on live. Like those old Maserati's, birdcage, 250F's, and then those Shelbys, Aston Martins and all those Group C's even Peugeot is there!...Oh my.
Perhaps you others; who have visited these shows before won't see this like me but this is heaven to me, to see that entry list.
And what comes GTR's, it must be the #01R which is only static displayed there. Aron Hasu has then 2 1995 spec GTR's or is there mistake on the year?
Rofgo's very welcome and BMW Museum #26R. Brilliant. I can not wait.
I just hope the GTR's and Group C's would be the place where you can shoot the cars well and so on. And now, have to start to plan where to go with the camera. You can not be 3 different places same time....

#01R is most likely, and most desired seeing as the whole gathering is about that car winning Le Mans, however it had been mentioned previously that both LARK cars may be present so perhaps it'll be #04R...
AH has '95 and a '96 GTR's so that's a typo / they were misinformed.

I believe 100% that the car which is only static display is the #01R. They simply can not leave it home. And yes good point; no mentions #04R or #20R eather. So surprises will be defenitely coming!
I just hope #21R would find it's way there too....

Could there lso be some roadcars?
Why not, it belongs there at least one on the paddock, the starting point which become to GTR and Le Mans winner and if we think this way; XP1 LM would be nice to see what happended after the Le Mans.
But I think next under 2 weeks; we can only hope the best!

Is there any change to get any detail information about GTR's, and McLaren plans in the event?

Hello,
I wonder if the absence of the GTRs on the Tag Heuer display at Geneva could have a link with Goodwood ? Not enough time to bring back the cars to be ready for goodwood...
With the rate EUR/GBP at 1.3888, the entry is 180€ for two days and 110€ for one day.
Do you know if it's possible to buy tickets cheaper ?
Nor Nicob, nor Vincent are able to come, so it's difficult to come alone.
Many thanks if you can help.
Phil

Yes and no.
Yes it's expensive.
No, not seen many ways of getting it cheaper. Except of getting an invitation of a member, even press isn't an option.
Because of the interesting cars and the fact it is on Goodwood, I don't care a bout the cash, just want to go ;)

Well done. Few days to go. I can not wait.
Hopelly we are lucky with the cars, #05R shows up and #21R is there some point and so on.
M.S.O, could you tell anything details what F1 GTR fans should know when arrival in the track Saturday morning?
Any tips?
