With Key removed from ignition, all electrical remains on

Hi all,
I've been referencing this forum for a long time, but this is my first post. I have a 1994 4 cyl Toyota Camry LE. For the last couple of years, when I parked the car after driving it and removed the key from the ignition, the air conditioning would continue to operate normally and blow cold air through the vents, and all of the other electrics would all operate for about 5 seconds, then shut down normally. Again, this was after driving the car, engine off, with the key removed and the ignition switch in the proper "off" position. I didn't think much of it at the time.

Recently, the problem has advanced to something worse. Now, when I turn off and remove the key, all electrical components remain on indefinitely (ie radio, air conditioning, wipers work, etc... )
I can physically power down each of the individual components using it's respective switch, but there is still accessory power on the vehicle. Basically, with the key removed, the vehicle thinks it is in accessory mode. All the dash lights are illuminated, like right before you start the vehicle. The only way to completely remove all electrical from the vehicle is to physically disconnect the battery.
Anybody have any suggestions or direction on where I might begin troubleshooting this?

I believe you need to replace your ignition switch. To test this, access the contacts in the connector attached to the ignition switch. There should be no continuity between any of the terminals with the switch in the OFF position. Any continuity means you have a short in the switch or wiring.

I am repairing a short from AM2 fuse, I disconnected the connector 5 inches behind the ignition switch before removing the screw that retains the electrical portion of said switch. This can be done without dropping the steering housing but replacing rotary switch requires lowering. If the switch is shorted separating connector will cut power to all acc. If you still have power look else where. I am posting here trying to solicit help locating IP1 connector and E20 splice in fuel injector wiring harness. :runaround:

From my registration I have '94 Camry XLE 2.2. On way to grandmother's house went through a puddle and car cut off. Blew the AM2 fuse behind battery. Continued to blow when key was turned, after disconnecting everything listed on schematic still blows fuse. Looking for IP1 connector before opening wiring harness from battery E20 splice to # 1 fuel injector. Seems everything splices at E20 far side of IP1 connector on right side of interior?:runaround: Seems short is past IP1 connector, does anyone know how harness runs from under glove box straight up and back to E20 splice between battery and top radiator hose?
