Hey, will the 5.0L HO work in the Crown Vic LX? Did I just screw up by going $8000 in the hole to have it installed? Let me know A.S.A.P.

A 302 is a 302. don't sweat it. The early model cop VICS had 302 H.O's So basically all you did is put the Mustang motor in it?

Never put the HO in a Crown Vic! They don't bother to tell you that your car will not run right. After I ran the car about 100 miles, the check engine light came on. Apparently, there's too much difference between the 302 and the 302 HO...in other words, they're not compatible. So, the job would actually cost me $13,495 after computers and all are replaced to match. Forget it! I'd by another Crown Vic with the 4.6 before wasting that money.

So swap in the H.O computer. That woulda been obvious. How come this would cost so much? Typical swaps are $5K , including computers and all related drivtrain components. Sounds like somebody is just trying to rip you off.........

Ford 302 HO $4500 NEW 12K/12YR warranty
Ford 302 HO Conversion Kit (computer) $5,973
So...the total job is actually $10,473...but that's still too much. The only people that want to honor the warranty for the motor is Ford. With the way I drive cars, I would really need the warranty though.

$5900 for a damm computer? :bloated: Guess I'm keeping my swaps to the junkyard style. $60 for a computer , $200 for the 5.0 H.O. (available in 86 - 93 Mustangs) and whatever else I need wouldn't top $1000. And all I need to find is a pair of T3 turbo's and some quality welding time and I gots myself a 500 HP 302.........

There was never a 5.0HO In any Crown Victoria. Eather a stock 5.0 or a 351 in some old police cars. Wasent no 5.0 HO.
