I was just wondering about this. Are XP1 LM and XP56GT kept in similar state or are they non-running at the moment?

XP1LM hasn't run since 2002, XPGT last ran in about 2009 IIRC. Plans are afoot to get both in running and driving condition soon.

How much is involved in re-commissioning an F1 back into road-worthy condition?
I am assuming it is much more than just a quick check over and MOT requiring at least a fuel cell replacement seen as they only have a 5 year lifespan?

correct. We have worked with BMW Motorsport for a run up procedure amongst many other items we go through.

I'd presume all the cars that have sat for years like the Brunei bunch or that one in Singapore would need similar?

Glad to hear the LM and GT are getting put back on the road, would be lovely to see them at Goodwood or at a track event or something. A dream would be for them to be tested by magazines/Nürburgring though with what they're worth I wouldn't imagine that'll ever happen.

I know there are several magazine tests of the LM, the one that particularly springs to mind is the in depth article in I think it was Car Magazine and another where they tested the 0 - 60 - 0 time.
Not sure about the GT though.

I may be way off the mark here but when you are surrounded by the objects of our groups desire day in day out do you ever get to the point where you no longer notice them?

I am a little out of the loop, is the Japanese GT sold now? I only ask as I heard something to that effect:confused:

I can't claim to be certain of the GTs current disposition, but it has been hanging about at MSO for quite a while now, as has its former stablemate, LM2. Based on what I've heard I don't expect they are set to return to where they came from.

That said, 072 resided at MSO for the entire time between the 2012 and 2014 F1 Tours and it certainly did not change hands. Other cars have been known to be stored by McLaren in the past as well for quite a while. The mere fact that either one is there doesn't really tell us all that much.

It's a cool toy shop. I can say though that seeing and driving supercars as your day job rather ruins you for your own cars, nothing ever feels fast!

So MSO what is your daily driver?

Is that GT and 001 gonna be at Wilton?

Just displayed at the daily MSO parking lot car show for the lucky few who make it through the gates.

#028 appears to be a go as well for the car park. Great chance for those of you on the other side of the pond to see it if you haven't already. I've always kind of wondered if Andretti chose Red/Tan on his McLaren out of spite, but it is an interesting look on an F1 for sure.

Have I missed something Patrick? What has happened to you?

Almost 3 weeks ago I fell very badly and severly bruised my leg. Now I can walk a bit again and am also able to drive again but it will take at least 6 weeks to heal:-(

Was a great day, from the excitement of capturing #028 en route, to watching Thomas get spoilt by sitting in the P1, black Enzo and XP5, to me sitting in the XP5, to chatting to the MSO team and chatting to the owner of #028 to then everythng inbetween those experiences, it was a great day.

It was good to catch up with Terry and Al, and I will upload more pics over the coming days when time allows

Does XP5 ever get the chance to just get out and be driven (I suppose it'd be risky given the value of it)?

Or is it just taken to every event like this?
