I'm just getting into Mod'in my Civic. I want to drop it but I want somthing that I can adujust to bring it back up when the roads and weather aren't up to par. I live in Michigan on the border to Canada so there is snow here a good 60% of the year so driving conditions aren't quite good. I dont want a feel every bump ride either because the roads suck too. I was wondering if anybody new anything that could fit my needs? I saw some Matrix stuff that was adjustable but I don't know how well they perform. Also if anybody has and links to sites where I can buy books to learn about suspension, engine, etc.?:1zhelp: I have to start learning somwhere. I get the impression that I might have to wait a year or so because any catalog I look through is for cars older than mine. I appreciate any help you guys give.:bigthumb:

If you want to adjust the ride height go with a full coilover set like Tein, , H&R dont buy just the adjustable sleeved springs - those are JUNK! I would stay away from Matrix stuff.

As far as books go - Summit Racing (www.summitsportcompact.com)

I was lookin and the skunk2's are like 200's and the H&R's are 600s. Is this a case of you pay for quality? I want to keep my ride as smooth as possible.

skunk2 is only $200 because its not a true coilover set. The H&R's are and thats why they cost more. If you purchase coilovers plan on spending $600 atleast not to mention the camber kit & alignment + labor if you have it done @ the shop. The lower you go the more the ride suffers due to lack of suspension travel & increased spring rates.

600 dollars for coilovers?

I spent 280 on my Ground Controls on a deal on groupbuycenter.

I'm not sure about getting an alignment. I dropped my car and didn't have the cash for an alignment. Everything was cool. I finally got my alignment and 3000 miles later my tires are chuncked to hell. 200 dollars down the drain for tires and another 60 for the worthless alignment.

I highly doubt an alignment would ruin your tires . . .

Thats why they were only $280 - those cant even come close to a full set. A good set is not cheap.

Coilover is one the most misunderstood term. Coil-overs are coil springs on struts with threaded adjustments. Not a coil spring with a sleeve attached to it.
