HB Int. Suzuki Racing Scheme 1980's Help

Hi everyone,

I want to finish a Tamiya Hayabusa X1 in the old 1980's HB International, Team Suzuki colour scheme. I have the Yellow, White and gold, but I am having trouble finding the team Suzuki three blue shades.

Could anyone give me a good representation of each clolour from either the Humbrol, Revell or Tamiya paint ranges. Would prefer acrylics, but enamels no problem if it has to be and I would prefer tins/pots not sprays, not enough space for spray's!!! If one colour from one paint range is considered better than the other then I am happy to buy various colours from various manufactures so your suggestions need not be from just one manufacturers range.

The colours I am looking for are Suzuki Light Blue (TLD) - Suzuki Medium Blue (TLE) - Suzuki Deep Blue (TLF); the codes in brackets are suzuki's official paint codes, just in case you are able to use these to find a colour match. The paints are also listed as having a "Pearl" finish, but I can live without that.

Before I have a load of you shout "Zero" paints from Hiroboy, I am aware of this company and it's excellent paint range, however given he shipping costs and restrictions on posting paints I would rather buy from a local model shop as I'm only after 3 Pots of paint and live without the exact match. I'm also aware of the American colorRite site, but their "Paint Chips", but as they say they are for approximation only not actual colour chips, so,are not accurate.

Anyway if you can help I would be very grateful to hear from you.

Maybe it is an option to go to a Suzuki dealer (or even mail the importer in your country) and find out what RAL numbers these colours have. Then it is easy to find a (close) match in automotive ranges like Motip or so.

Not so sure that RAL numbers are listed I have the official Suzuki colour codes, but that doesn't help much either! but thanks anyway for responding.

If you have the suzuki codes, you should be able to find the correct motip alternative here:
http://www.motip.be/en/service/colourguide-motip/

You can decant those and spray with an airbrush.

just tried the codes on the website and apparently he doesn't find them... so kind of a useless post of mine ;)
