Greetings everyone...
I own a 2008 Toyota Avanza that I bought back in 2008 from Toyota dealership . Recently I was reading about the chassis/VIN number and what it does indicate, my car's VIN number is ''MHFHICF306K001087''. When I checked the VIN number online it turned out to be made in 2006 and not in 2008. Also I've read that the tenth number should indicate the year that the car has been made in.
Can anyone tell me what should I do ?
Thanks in advance

That's an invalid VIN#. Parts of it indicate it's an '06 made in Thailand.

Why is it invalid ? I'm sure that is what's written on the insurance papers as well as the buying contract. I also checked the car, it's the same number.

Sorry, maybe the website I used was poor but it showed no "H" in the second position for Toyota and said the fifth digit as well as the check digit was wrong.
But it did say it's an '06 built in Thailand/Asia. The 10th digit is the year and so happens a "6" is an '06.

So what do you think I should do ? I mean they sold me a 2006 made car and I paid the price of a 2008 model.
Can I take them to court ?

I'm no expert on international law but if that's in fact what they did then I'd seek advice from a lawyer. Usually initial consultations are free around here. Good luck...get the bastards!
