I'm going to replace the condenser, and AC compressor on my 1999 Blazer. I've got the parts, and am ready to install them, but I have some questions first.........
Can I drive the Blazer to my mechanic, after installing these parts, to have him then charge the cooling system ??
Or will driving it, before charging the system, damage the new parts ??
My mechanic that's going to charge the system is about 4 miles away from me.
He has no problem charging the system for me, knowing I'm replacing these parts. But he want's nothing to do with hooking anything up to the parts I'm installing, for legal / liability reasons. Which I understand.
I just want to make sure I won't dick anything up driving the vehicle, after installing the new parts. By the way, if you haven't already figured it out, I am completely AC ignorant...LOL
Your advice will be appreciated.....

probably too late now but when replacing the ac compressor you must do the system ac flush . this cleans out any metal debris from the ac system. also any acid.
replacing all seals disturbed and the orifice tube......
installing the compressor oil need be added to the compressor and also the system of the proper type/viscosity/amount.
When you have a shop do the charging and you did this install setup work he will not even check for leaks ...not his problem and also why help you out a person taking away his business...
installing leak detector dye is recommended . this then will reveal leaks, using a black UV light.
good luck..
