im sure everyone knows of northwestnissans.com... i wanted to start something similiar

i already got the domain www.northeastnissans.com... any of you interested? i wanted it to be some kinda hub for all nissan guys... toss around your ideas for this please!

i'm in. there's already a 240SX related club near me (Southern Ontario 240SX Club, www.son240sx.ca), but i'm still in for a bigger one like this. i hate going to check out the classifieds on NWN and all the cars are in Washington. i want to get in touch with owners nearer to me.

yea that's what i was thinking too. all the cars are on the west coast, there's nothing here on the east.

i could put the web site together... let me know if you have any other ideas for it or how we would get this going...

we'd probably need a few cars to show off on the site and what they've done to them. and them some to-do articles for all the nissans.... i think it has opportunity

I'm in, but I don't have a car yet. I should expect to get a 240 within the next year/year and 1/2. I'm bringing in mad loot from my job now, and I already have some cash stashed away for my car :smile:.

yeah, i don't have a 240 yet (as most of you know), but i'm currently shopping around and i'm on the verge of buying a red '90 fastback with a new KA in it. i should have 2 240SX's by 2 weeks from now, as i'm also buying a parts car. i'd definitley be in on this in a big way. we could have meets at a central location not too far from everyone etc.

mynismo(sorry dude, i forget your real name) - i could try to help out in a big way if there's any organizing shit that needs to be done etc. i'm no web designer though, but i'd help in whatever way i could.

btw, if anyone does need parts from a 1989 Burgundy 240SX hatchback, PM me. i can help with the shipping, but i ain't paying whole. some of the parts have already been "claimed" by some of the guys on son240SX.ca. i made a "guaging interest" thread to see how many parts i could sell. when i buy the car (next friday), i'll make another thread in there and one in the classifieds section here. if you guys need anything from it, PM me and i'll see what i can do.:wink:

ike ike ike... you know a lot about 240's.... why do you want an sohc? how about a 91? 15hp is a hell of a lot more to work with.

i would buy a '91+, but they're hella pricey up here. the cheapest ones on autotrader.ca have mad high km. for instance there's a 1991 fastback in gold for $1295 CDN that has 305,000km (190,XXX miles). the owner says they took good care of it and it's all highway miles, but i dunno...

my friend's mom (Takeshi_Nakazato, he posts on here sporadically) got a '91 Coupe for $1400 CDN. not too bad shape. some mad rust around the sun-roof and trunklid, but they replaced the trunk and are getting a body shop to do the roof soon. it has 240,000km on it (150,000 miles), so it's not too bad.

there are deals out there, you just have to look for a long time to find them.

the car i'm looking at buying is a '90 with 230k on the body and 98k on the replaced SOHC. it has Altima wheels, a new clutch, and no rust whatsoever. he wants $2400 CDN for it. i think it's a damn good deal.

i agree. that red paint is just outstanding. i saw a 90 a while ago just like that, and the paint looked brand new.... even though it was 13 years old.

just make sure you take all that black trim off... some real good hand word but its def worth it

i personally don't mind the trim...

of course it's a stick, hence why i said it had a new clutch. :biggrin2:

i definitley think it needs to be dropped, so my first mod will obviousley be a set of Tein FLEX's or JIC FLT-A2's. i also want to find a '90 front lip somewhere...

yeah, that's the joy of getting a cheap car. the mods cost more. i love it!

my friend found a shop in Chinatown-section of Toronto that sells Tein. he said S13 FLEX are $2400, so that exactly equals the cost of the car. i probably won't get them until next summer or so, but that's ok as i'll probably garage the car over the winter and buy a beater.

Must be nice to have 240Sx clubs around you....God help us for all we have in Tx are Mustang Clubs :loser: :rolleyes:

Brian, I really hope you get that red beauty. It looks like its in pretty decent shape too.

As for the club, I think everyone should post their locations so we could figure some good locations that are relatively close to everyone.

Me, I am in Rhode Island.

1989 240SX-RB25DET conversion-Albany. NY. Motor blew up after only 10 minutes of the engine running and now I have another on the way(warranty). Never driven the car on the streets but in about 4-6 weeks I should have it up and running again.

since im in Toronto and will be looking for a 240 within the next year or 2 (i got about $0.35 saved so far :frown:) , i will gladly make any graphic images or help out with the web-design aspect of things.

btw, All Ages News (www.allagesnews.com) is some of my work, wasnt really trying though.

and Killer-Sound Enterntainment (www.killer-sound.com) is more of a clean look, i use CSS code aswell and dreamweaver MX6.

this is no where near my best graphic design work though, with some creative input we'll make a wicked site.

im fresh outta ideas that i havent used though.


we can look at webdesign sites and steal some nice ideas :D (from template sites)


i can remake any web-template u see on a webdesign site.

To me, the web-design of the other 240sx forums is garbage, but there is one really nice orange and black one, i forget which it is.. i can make somethiing clean and good looking like that.

mynismo, i can recreate any webdesign you find..

we should aim at a fast download for a broadband connection. which in turn, means that it will be around a medium wait for dial-up users.
and with photoshops SAVE FOR WEB feature (which alot of n00bs dont use), i can cut the size of the images by about 40 %, without much visible loss in quality.. ive done it many times before.

someone start picking templates, then we will have a vote off, and then i will replicate the design and change things that need changing (eg. top banners and shit -- have to add some cars here and there)..


i can remake almost ALL of those design templates..

and we can integrate those into vbulletin or Php-Nuke (but im not very good at those codes and stuff) and it will be a cool interface.. and wont be very intensive on dial-up either with my bandwidth saving imaging method :D

i too have no real ideas for the logo...we could do something like North-West with NEN instead of NWN, but make a different logo around it so that we're not accused of jacking their ideas.
