2000 s10 Engine stops randomly

Hey I am new to this site and new to cars in general. I recently inherited an s10 that works fine but has a very quirky condition. The engine will stop randomly with no warning while driving down the road :screwy: after turning off the ignition, wait a minute or two, turn it back on and it works fine for a few more days or couple of weeks, but has been driving me crazy, and isn't very safe :runaround: The check engine light is on and the code read a bad crank sensor, so I got that replaced, and it didn't fix the issue :shakehead so the mechanic said that the next step would be to replace the ignition module with the ignition coils. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? has if so if this a good diagnosis? What have you done to fix the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :feedback:

My Brother-in-law's 1995 Jimmy is experiencing the same problem.
My first thought is maybe a crankshaft sensor. However, you tried that.
Lets us know if replacing the PCM fixed it?
