I have a 99' Grand Prix GT. For about two weeks now i have been hearing a grinding noise, like metal grinding metal, from under the floor boards every time I either turn a corner or go over a bump. Now I have checked my shocks and they seem fine no noises when I bounce on the car. Anybody have any ideas?

CV-Joints going bad my guess.

Take and put your car up on jacks and turn the wheels slowly, listen for the c.v. joints and if you dont hear anything there, listen at the wheels for bearing noise. If not there pull your front brakes and check out your rotors and pads for the metal to metal look...

Thank you for your responses!!! I don't believe it could be the brakes I had just changed them a couple months ago and the rotors where good. And if the cv were bad wouldn't they click or somethin like that. I don't see any rips in the boots either. Any other suggestions?

Found The Problem It Seems That When The Dealer Replaced My Tranny They Were Too Lazy To Finish The Job And Didn't Tighten The Crossmember Bolt. They Had To Drop The Crossmember In Order To Pull The Tranny Out. They Had The Nerve To Try To Charge Me For It Too. $110.00 My Ass!!!
