I am in need of auto information for a murder mystery I’m writing.

Towards the end of the book, the villain, a 70-year-old woman, disables two vehicles in order to make her getaway. One is the sheriff’s car--a Crown Vic anywhere from 1997 to 2001. The other is her cousin's truck--a 2003 Dodge Ram. She has 8-10 minutes to do the job before they realize she’s the murderer. Keys were left in ignitions of both vehicles. (This is far out in the country.) A hurricane is approaching so rain and wind are heavy. The woman is smarter than she looks and was a cheerleader who has remained fit. She has no tools on her, but some basic wrenches, hammers, screw drivers, etc would be in the car and the truck.

Someone disabled my Dodge Tradesman many years ago simply by removing fuses under the dash. Would that be possible with these two vehicles? If not, can you suggest something else she might do to stop them from going after her?

I’d be mighty grateful for any evil ideas you might have.

Pull all the relays out of the relay center on the Crown Vic. On the Dodge pull all the relays from Integrated Power Module. Both are underhood.
