Tacoma

4x4dragon wants to race me. For those of you that don't know me I have a 2000 si and it has got i/h/e what do you guys think bout that.

i think its on :D the si vs the tacoma ...hehehe how fair....one has more experience driving a stick and one has a faster car....who will win ?????

Not that it's a big deal, I have Intake and Exhaust.

I just have a flowmaster 40 series muffler and a custom Air Box modification that was developed on TacomaTerritory.com. It has shown dyno at 6-8 rwhp.

I figure the muffler adds about 3-4 hp, maybe.

TRD Headers are next, 14-16 hp!

what does this mean ........is the si gonna get stomped on by a 4x4 truck ...or is the little rice rocket gonna be able to pull this one out :confused:

Well, from what I hear about Tacoma's is that they're pretty torquey. I've driven a friend's Si with i/h/cc/e/i/c/bk/e/TSWrwp/g (that's intake, header, catalytic converter, exhaust, igniton, cams, body kit, eibachs, 17" TSW revos with Proxes FZ4's, and guages) and it has such torque problems (but wonderful top end). Hate to say it, but my hypothetical money is on the truck. I'd say take out your passenger and rear seats just before the race to increase your weight advantage. hahaha.

I think the Tacoma will beat you off the line, but you might can catch him in top end.

aaahhh chris, don't worry about it. but the fact that it's a truck really doesn't make that much of a difference, now being a 4x4(that adds some weight but not much).

trust me, you should win, you just can't screw up. you've only got about a 1 second window(0-60).

now if you do get beat and wanna sell your car, you can always go get the Tacoma S-Runner. 0-60 is 7.2 on that bad boy. Then you could also get the TRD SC added(75hp), TRD headers(15hp), and the TRD exhaust(5-10hp) and watch that baby FLY!!!(if you can keep the tires from wanting to smoke off the rims!!!! All that would be under warranty too!!!! All for around $24k!!!!:wave:

lol chris you'll win you have a 2 second window on him not 1 he runs probably 9.5 1/4 and i'd say you run about a 7.3 1/4 but you can't miss shift ;) The tacoma is light but its not that light :D Well i guess who ever losses will get this from me :finger:

huh????? What the heck you mean by "1/4"???? IF you talking 0-60 then sorry, you be wrong. A Double Cab(4door) automatic will run 0-60 in 9.5. I can prolly break the 8.5 mark in my truck, being just the xtra cab and being a 5 spd with slight mod's!!:cool:

Hey hondacsi what brand intake, header, and exaust do you have.

one thing to remember...
trucks are light too... yes a 4x4 is heavier, but it has awd traction... everyone thinks that trucks are slow... but wtf? have you driven one? they are light and rwd... that is advantageous... and, find the power to weight ratios... that is what matters...
then the driver comes in...
trucks have truck trannies... but if he knows how to drive it... then they become more equal...
it is just funny b/c everyone thinks that since one is a car and the other a truck the car is god.

i have 94 s10 w/ a v6 and stick and i routinely clean up on camaros and f birds...
and my lude is quicker yes, but they are closely matched... it wouldnt be a blowout...

Flywsi- Yeah ive driven 4x4dragons tacoma and it is fast ...its no where near slow ....but i've never driven hondacsi SI ...It will be a good race no matter what :D anyone else gonna put their predictions on whos gonna win ?

Sorry, but i have to agree with TheMan on this one. The truck sounds like it's just enough to rock with you. Then again there's only one way to find out...............:flash:

I guess we will just have to see, I just can't imagin a truck beating the Si in a race.

Chris, to be accurate, if you were to beat me that bad(doubtful), you would specifically see my front skid plate since my truck sits so much higher than your civic, hehehehe!

Honestly, whoever wins, I don't think they will be seeing the other in the rear view mirror. The only way I can see one of us beating the other that bad is if one of us mis-shifts. We'll see though. I went out to the light at the High School friday night and practiced a bit.:sun:

Hey, we may want to get some spotters in both directions to lookout for other cars/cops. Preferablly somone with a CB to let me know(i have a cb) if they see a cop while we're in the middle of racing, you know what I mean???

Come on Big Herm, I showed you some video clips didn't I???? Remember that S10 vs. Supra?? It was either an S10 with a v8 dropped in it or something or I thought it was a Cyclone. The Supra got about a 1 second jump on the s10 and the s10 still just passed the Supra and pulled in front of him!!!!!!! Funny!

Word to the wise though, I don't care about no Crappy F*rd Lightning, but beware of the GMC Cyclone(s10)!!!!! Fasted production truck EVER! 0-60 in under 5 seconds(like 4.8). and it had all wheel drive and it was an Automatic.!!!! Man, i want one!:alien:

yeah it was nuts.. the supra still got whooped even with that jump.. if i was the supra driver i wold have said my tranny messed up or my engine blew :D :eek: :cool: :eek: :cool:

i believe that the truck in that vid had a v8 in it... if you watch the way it lifted, it was not similar to anything with awd, and the syclone has diff body cladding... no chrome either.
v8 s10s are hella quick... you can make em just as quick as a syclone...
i just dont remember if the syclone had a turbo 4.3 or the buick gnx motor... a turbo 3.8
either way.. they are crazy

well... not really... i work at stylinconcepts.. so i know all about makin a truck look sweet... so you have a big flat canvas for whatever you want, and it will swallow a v8 that would kill anything... that sounds pretty good to me... i still love my lude, but it is cool to cruise my s10, cuz no one thinks that i will kill em in a truck... ya know? sleeper style... or crazy wild custom style...

there is just something bout lil trucks i hate.. i dont know what lol.. i love bigger trucks like lightnings, f150's and tundra's.. but would never give up my lude (cept for dat lightning :)
