2008 Trailblazer 4x4 whining noise on startup

My vehicle has 113 k and when I start it cold there is a whining sound for about 20 seconds and then increases in pitch and then slowly winds down to a stop. Does not do it when motor is warm. Any thoughts what it might be?

From here almost impossible to diagnose this, check p/s fluid, could be the troublesome fan clutch also.
