Hi I am thinking of buying a mazda RX-3 and ther are a few things i would like to know about it.
How much would a 1972 Series 1 Mazda rx-3 coupe 10A savanna in allright condition (Engine doesnt have to be in working order) cost me in australia?
Are they very hard to find?
Is it hard to convert a manual RX-7 13B Turbo engine into the RX-3?
Are all the mounts in completley different places and stuff like that?
Would i have to take it to a mechanics to get it fitted properly or could a few mates and i do it if i have the right tools?
If you know any more info or websites about this conversion i would be very gratefull.
Thanxs

***i think u should go after an unfinished project. thyre cheap and usualy just the rolling shell with dash. all u need is the power bits. ur lookin at around 2-3 grand for a good shell with no rust and that has probably gotten its paint removed. otherwise ur lookin at around 5 grand for a stocky sedan or a bit more for the coupe, both in good condition.

*** i remeber a few years ago there was a crap load for sale, nowdays ud be lucky to find a few dozen. they are getting rarer and the sooner u buy the more money and time u will save on gettin one.

*** pretty damn easy if u know what u doin. its basicaly the same block, exept maybe 300cc larger. not much work at all is needed for it to slip rite into place.

***u and ur mates could do it but for a pro job take it to a place like rotorworx, pac performance or mazsport who will build and install the engine u want (EDIT: forgot to mention they tune it as well). rotorworx is the cheapest; for $6800 (AU of course) u can drive ur car in the shop and a few days later drive out with a freshly built 12-second 13b turbo. very good quality and durability too.
